Warm south-west Europe; cool with some rain for Scandinavia

Thursday
Plenty of fair westher and light winds across the continent with high pressure in charge. Some morning fog patches in central Europe. Chance of isolated showers for Spain and Portugal, up to 35C in south-western Iberia. Near 30C in south-west France, and 25C for central France. 19 to 23C for Germany and the Low Countries, also the Alps.
Dry for central-eastern Europe and toward the Black Sea, highs typically 18 to 22C. A northerly wind brings a cool feel to Greece, with a few showers possible. Westerly winds influence Scandinavia. Wet in southern Norway, and rain spreads across central Sweden through the day, up to 16C in the south. Brisk winds and showers for Finland, but easing. Cool across the far north at 7 to 10C.

Friday
High pressure will be centred to the north-west of Europe, but much of the continent stays dry with warm sunshine. Chance of a shower for northern Spain. Hottest temperatures for western Spain and Portugal again into the mid-30s, and topping 30C in south-west France too. An easterly breeze for northern France and the Low Countries, with variable cloud. Up to 20C in southern Germany, nearer 15C in the north. Dry across the Alps, Italy and eastern Europe.
A small area of low pressure is forecast to lie over the eastern Mediterranean, bringing a risk of rain to southern Greece , and showers for the Aegean Sea. Scandinavia should improve, with just a few showers, but feeling cool under a north-westerly breeze.
