Hot and dry around the Mediterranean

Monday
A slack pressure pattern across Europe. Isolated showers over northern parts of Spain on Monday but otherwise dry, warm and sunny for Iberia, the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia. Highs 35C in central-southern Spain. Thundery showers developing over Italy and northern Greece through the afternoon but otherwise a sunny and hot day. Sunny, hot and dry for western Turkey.
Showers for central France and across much of Germany as a cold front lingers across the region. Cloud clearing the Low Countries through the day leaving dry conditions here. Warm across central Europe with scattered showers affecting Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia; showers more frequent in the south of this region. Dry and bright for Poland.
Rain clearing to the east over Denmark through the day to leave a dry and bright evening. A mostly dry and bright day for the Baltics with just the odd shower along the Baltic Sea coast. A band of scattered showers with some more prolonged outbreaks of rain mixed in will move northeastward across Norway, Sweden and Finland through the day. Good sunny spells will follow to the west behind this for Norway.

Tuesday
Hot and dry again for much of Spain and Portugal, highs around 33C. A cold front moves into northwest Iberia bringing cooler conditions and some rain.
Dry for southern France and much of northern Italy, although showers will break out over the Alps. A few showers too for southern Italy. Thundery downpours will develop more widely for the Balkans, Romania and Ukraine. A few showers for Greece, but the Aegean and east Med will be dry.
Fronts affect northern France and the Low Countries with cloud and rain. A zone of showers for central Germany, but drier toward the north, also dry for Denmark. Poland and the Czech Republic should be mainly dry with just a few showers locally. High pressure lies to the northeast giving fine weather to the Baltic states and much of Sweden. Rain moves away north across Finland. Some rain or showers in Norway mostly toward the west and north.
