Cold eastern Europe, mild west

Saturday
Dry for Spain and Portugal, also southern France. Highs 18C for south & eastern Spanish Costas. Thundery for the central Mediterranean islands, including southern Italy. Dry for Greece, much of Turkey and Cyprus. Wind and rain sweeps across northern France into the Low Countries and later western Germany, 8 to 12C.
Alpine countries and central-eastern Europe will be dry. Chilly toward the east, temperatures staying near or below freezing in countries including Poland, Hungary and Romania. Snow for eastern Ukraine. The Baltic states will be dry, whilst some rain and snow affects Finland. Showers for western Norway. Rain and strong winds move into Denmark by evening. Dry for much of Sweden, with temperatures up to 7C in the south.

Sunday
High pressure over Iberia maintains dry weather for southern Spain and Portugal with a good deal of sunshine. Fronts extend across France, the Low Countries and Germany bringing wet and windy weather, but generally mild temperatures, 12 to 15C. Rain and mountain snow moves into Switzerland, whilst Austria should be dry but rather windy.
A few areas of thunderstorms may affect southern Italy and far west of Greece , otherwise much of the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea will be dry. Cold and dry for east and south-eastern Europe, with frost and fog. Breezy and less cold for Poland and the Baltic, with patchy rain for Sweden and Norway.
