A deep area of low pressure brings very unsettled weather to northern areas

Saturday
A largely dry and fine day across Portugal and much of Spain. Cloudier skies and isolated showers are expected in the southeast of Spain and across the Balearic Islands. Heavy rain will clear to the south of Italy through the day although Sicily and the far south of mainland Italy will remain cloudy and very wet throughout. Becoming cloudy with patchy rain for Greece while Turkey stays mostly dry and fine.
A dry and fine day across France though cloud does build to the north. Cloudy over the Low Countries with patchy rain developing later. Cloud also builds over northern Germany and Poland with patchy light rain towards coasts. Dry and bright for the Alpine countries, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Unsettled across Norway and Sweden as an area of low pressure moves towards western Norway. Expect high winds along coasts and breezy conditions inland. Heavy and peristent rainfall, particularly so across western areas, snowfall over the higher ground. After a dry start for Finland and the Baltic States, heavy rain and snow arrives from the west. Turning windy here too.

Sunday
Dry and sunny conditions across Portugal, Spain, the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia on Sunday. Heavy rain finally clears southern Italy, but lingers over Sicily, to leave a dry and fine day here too. Early showers fade over Greece allowing for a dry and sunny day here and for much of Turkey.
Cloudy over northern France, brighter to the south but staying dry. Mostly cloudy for the Low Countries, Germany and Poland with patchy light rain over northern areas. After a sunny start, cloud builds over Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia but it stays dry.
A deep area of low pressure brings very breezy conditions to Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Persistent outbreaks of rain and snow affect western coasts of Norway while scattered wintry showers affect Finland and northern Sweden. Mostly bright with isolated showers for Denmark while more frequent showers affect Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
