High pressure brings dry, bright and settled conditions to many across central & northern Europe


Monday
Heavy, thundery showers linger over northeastern Spain into Monday while an area of low pressure brings further heavy rain into Portugal then western and northern Spain later. A separate area of low pressure over the Balearic Sea brings heavy, sometimes thundery, rain to the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and much of Italy. Thundery outbreaks of rain also affect northern parts of Greece and Turkey while drier, fair conditions prevail to the south.
Heavy and thundery rain again affecting the southwestern half of France; dry but cloudy to the northeast. Dry and sunny conditions for the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and much of Austria. Cloudier over western Austria and Switzerland with isolated showers here.
Dry and sunny conditions extend to Denmark and across much of Norway and Sweden. Cloudier to the far north of Norway and Sweden with isolated showers. A mostly dry day too for Finland and the Baltic States though there will likely be more in the way of cloud here.

Tuesday
Frequent, sometimes thundery, showers over Iberia and the Balearic Islands - these heaviest over northeastern Spain. Heavy outbreaks of rain also affect Corsica, Sardinia and southern Italy. Drier but cloudy for northern Italy. Outbreaks of rain also spread across Greece and continue to affect northern Turkey. Mostly dry and fine for southern Turkey.
Showers and outbreaks of rain over southern France; drier to the north with sunny spells developing for some. Mostly dry and sunny conditions prevail across the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland. Broken cloud developing at times for Belgium and Switzerland.
Staying dry and mostly sunny for Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States. Some broken cloud around for Finland and the Baltics and for northern parts of Norway and Sweden where isolated showers may also develop.
