High pressure building across west Europe

Thursday
Rain again in northern Spain on Thursday. Most of the rest of Spain and Portugal should be fair with some sunny spells. Scattered showers for Majorca and Menorca, as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Italy will have showers in central and northern areas, but the south should have a better day with some sunshine. Greece and Turkey remain warm, dry and sunny.
showers across France, most of these affecting northern areas where they could be heavy and prolonged. Further showers and outbreaks of rain in The Netherlands, these could be heavy at times. Some showers to in northern Germany, but more persistent rain from the east and south of Germany as well as Poland. A wet day for Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland where there may be some heavy periods of rain.
Denmark will have some showers in the south, but dry in the north. Sweden will be mostly dry with some decent spells of sunshine. The Baltic states will be mild and generally dry, although cloudier for Finland with showers or outbreaks of rain here. Norway will be cold with further snow showers in the north and west but dry and cloudy in the south.

Friday
Less wet across northern Spain on Friday but still some patchy rain about. Showers affecting eastern regions. Dry across Portugal. A line of showers extends across the Balearics through Sardinia and Corsica as well as through central into parts of southern Italy and Croatia. Largely dry and fine across Greece and Turkey.
Any patchy rain easing through France, the Low Countries and Germany, although coastal areas here still could see some showers. Coastal regions of Poland could also see a few scattered showers but largely dry elsewhere. Dry across northern Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Showery rain through Slovenia and parts of Hungary.
Largely dry across Denmark but some showers in the south and west at times. Rain pushing into west Norway, drier further east as well as across Sweden. Some rain affecting particularly east Finland but drier further west here. Winds brisk and feeling chilly. Some showers through the Baltics.
