Rather 'typical' April conditions will dominate across Europe through early next week with varied weather but with a steady rise in temperatures for some areas


Monday
During Monday and a distinct region of unsettled weather is forecast to extend from southern areas of Finland, Sweden and Norway, down towards parts of England and into France, Spain and Portugal. It is across these areas that rain or showers are forecast, perhaps with some thunderstorms too across France through the afternoon. Showery weather is forecast to develop through the day across Italy and surrounding areas, local downpours possible here. However, much of the eastern Med, including Turkey and Greece, along with much of eastern areas of Europe will maintain fine, settled conditions with some warm spells of sunshine. Much of Europe will be warm with the highest temperatures through more central and southern areas, but late cold weather will lingering across more northern areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland where locally very cold with some snow.

Tuesday
Into Tuesday and high pressure will develop across Scandinavia introducing colder and more settled conditions across much of Norway, Sweden and Finland as winds become N'ly around and over the top of the developing high pressure. Much of England and Wales, along with all of France and Iberia, so essentially the whole of western Europe, will remain unsettled as low pressure dominates bringing rain or showers at times. Some heavy and thundery downpours are predicted across Spain and Portugal especially during the afternoon. Fair weather dominates though across much of central and eastern areas of Europe with pleasant conditions across Germany and eastwards towards Poland and Slovakia and also down towards Greece and Turkey. Here, however, a few thundery downpours may develop during the afternoon temperatures become warm or very warm across more central and eastern areas of the Med through the day, the first signs of summer.
