Cold air sinks south across northern and eastern Europe


Friday
Some rain in Portugal and central parts of Spain on Friday. Fair to the north and south with good spells of sunshine. Corsica and Sardinia will be fair too. Some showers in southern parts of Italy, but fair in central and northern areas. Greece should be mostly fair with sunshine. A few showers for western areas. Showers in Turkey as well, a few of them heavy.
Rain and showers in central France, but dry and bright to the south. Cool in the Low Countries and Germany with a few showers in the north. Heavy showers in Hungary with more persistent rain in Austria and Switzerland.
Chilly for Denmark with a few showers here. Rain in the Baltic States turning to snow. The snow also afecting Finland. Snow showers over western and northern Norway, some of them heavy.

Saturday
A band of heavy rain edges from northwest to southeast across Iberia on Saturday. Staying dry and bright ahead of this for southeast Spain. A dry and bright day too for the Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia and much of Italy. Just a few isolated showers to the south. Sunshine and scattered showers for Greece and Turkey - showers most frequent to the west and north.
A band of heavy rain affects western France, staying dry but increasingly cloudy to the east. Mostly dry, bright and cool for the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Some wintry showers for northern areas. After early snow and rain eases for Switzerland and Austria it will be a mostly dry and bright afternoon here too.
A cool, mostly dry and bright day for Denmark with a few isolated showers. Breezy and bright for the Baltic States with isolated wintry showers here. A bright day for Norway, Sweden and Finland with frequent wintry showers for eastern Finland and western Norway. Increasingly windy to the north.
