A band of rain pushes eastwards across northern Spain and France on Thursday
Thursday Heavy rain to start the day pushing eastwards through northern Spain and southern France with a mostly dry day expected across Portugal with sunny spells. A dry afternoon follows the rain across much of Spain. A showery afternoon follows on for much of France, particulary in the south and west, with showers merging to form longer spells of rain. Rain pushes into northern parts of Italy during the afternoon with some heavy bursts possible, but drier across central and southern parts. High pressure ensuring a dry and fine day across Greece and southeastern Europe. A mostly dry afternoon across Austria with sunny spells across Switzerland, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia too. After some initial showery rain a mostly dry day is expected in Germany, but a few showers persist in the north. Low pressure pushes bands of rain northwards across Sweden and Denmark, with showery rain in Norway. Remaining mostly dry in Finland and the Baltic countries.
Friday Bands of rain or showers continue across Portugal and northern Spain, with a dry day across southern parts of Iberia. Bands of showers or rain track eastwards across France, much of Italy into southeastern Europe during the afternoon with some heavy rain possible just about anywhere. Showery rain in western Germany, and the low countries through much of the day. Bands of showers or rain push east through Switzerland, Austria and Slovakia during Friday, with heavy rain in southern Poland later. Less rain than Thursday in Denmark, although some light rain or showers expected during Friday afternoon across Norway, Sweden, and Finland too. Mostly dry in northern Poland and the Baltic countries but staying cloudy and cool.
