Increasingly unsettled Italy and Balkans

Friday
Dry overall for Spain and Portugal, although a few isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible in east & northern Spain. Very warm in southern Iberia, highs 25C, locally higher. Plenty of dry, sunny and warm weather across the Mediterranean, temperatures widely into the low 20s Celsius. Risk of thundery showers breaking out for northern Italy, the Balkans and mainland Greece. Thundery too in southern Turkey, whilst areas around the Black Sea will be dry.
High pressure across central Europe brings dry weather to France, southern Germany, the Alps and Hungary, with sunshine and broken cloud, highs 12 to 15C. Cool and breezy with a few showers for northern Germany and Denmark with a few light showers. A slow moving front brings some persistent rain to Poland, Belarus and north-western Ukraine. Patchy rain for western Norway, and showers for southern Sweden. Cold and dry for northern Scandinavia, daytime temperatures staying close to freezing.

Saturday
High pressure centred around the Bay of Biscay maintains dry and warm weather for Spain and Portugal, around 30C for southern Costas. Fair weather too for western France. A shallow area of low pressure develops around the Gulf of Genoa, producing a brisk mistral wind for southern France and the western Alps. Clusters of thundery showers affect the southern Alps, northern Italy and Balkans. Southern Italy and much of Greece stay dry and warm. Dry too around the Black Sea. Thundery rain for Cyprus.
Low pressure moves from the North Sea into the southern Baltic, bringing rain and gusty winds to northern-central Europe - a cold front passing south across Germany during the day. Some sunshine for eastern Europe, although rain affects northern Poland, and spreads into the Czech Republic from the west. Rain and snow for southern Sweden and Norway. Staying dry and cold for northern Scandinavia.
